This learner resource contains a number of topics focusing on Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) of aluminium and aluminium alloys. Examples include GMAW safety, consumables, welding aluminium and its alloys, application of welding symbols, destructive weld testing and structural welding Standards. A number of practical tasks/activities have been included to help learners develop the skills required to weld aluminium plate and sheet sections in all positions. Weld quality is assessed to AS/NZS 1665 Welding aluminium structures – Category B weld quality requirements.
