MEM05039B Perform advanced geometric development – Conical is a trade level unit of competency in the MEM05 Metal and Engineering Training Package and available in Certificate III to Diploma - Advanced Trade qualifications.

This learner resource aims to develop the knowledge and skills required to mark out conical shapes and intersections using advanced radial line development techniques. Typical applications include fabrications used for ventilation, ducting, air-conditioning and domestic conical components such as hoods, funnels, flues etc. In addition, this resource aims to develop a learner’s ability to estimate and economically use material, determine specifications using appropriate calculations, identify and label points and lines on layouts and patterns, mark out templates and materials to form complex conical shapes. A number of relevant practical jobs, practice drawing sheets and job instructions are included to simulate a range of industry applications using advanced radial line development techniques.
